Now Playing!

The British Invasion
October 24, 2014 - March 29, 2014

Back in the 1960’s there was an amazing musical phenomena, in which many musical acts from the United Kingdom became popular around the world launching some of the most inventive and influential bands of all time. On December 10, 1963, the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite, ran a report about the “Beatle mania” phenomenon in the United Kingdom. On February 7, 1964 the CBS Evening News ran a story about the Beatles' United States arrival that afternoon and the “British Invasion” had began! Two days later they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and soon after were topping the American charts and would do so for many years. Ed Sullivan showcased several other musical acts from “across the pond” such as The Rolling Stones, Herman`s Hermits, Dusty Springfield and many other up and coming stars. In many ways, Mr. Sullivan is responsible for introducing this musical invasion to the North American audience.
Tonight, we take you back to the days of live television and present a behind the scenes tale of the famous Ed Sullivan show during such an exciting time in musical history, when he brought these new amazing acts and performers into people’s living rooms. Celebrations Dinner Theatre is pleased to present “The British Invasion” a new show from B. Cunningham (Night at the Museum of Rock and Roll, Ghostbusted, Elvis and The Las Vegas Hangover) and R. Apostle.

Take an evening to step away from the daily stresses and be entertained by the Celebrations Cast.

Located in Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry, 1824 Pembina Highway, it's called "Interactive Dinner Theatre." Our actors and additional cast stay in character the entire time as they serve you each course throughout the evening. Add to the fun by playing along and you might even become part of the show.

From the moment you enter the theatre you're in a another world where day-to-day cares are forgotten...an old west saloon, a 1950s high school reunion, a fantasy island a futuristic starship. Wherever it is be prepared for the time of your life.

Our uniqueness carries through to the leisurely manner in which the meal service occurs. When you enter the doors, you will be presented with soup and salad followed by the first act of the production. A break follows in which your choice of four entrées is served after which the second act is presented. Finally there is another break in which your choice of two desserts are served while we celebrate with those in the audience having a birthday or anniversary. This break is followed by the third and final act of the production.

The concept originated in Winnipeg in the 80s under the name of Celebrations Dinner Theatre. The current team has operated the Winnipeg Theatre since 1993.
