We are proud to announce we will hold a photo contest as part of our plans to feature scenic photos of Winnipeg and Manitoba as the artwork for our newest hotel, Canad Inns Destination Centre Health Sciences Centre, opening November 2012! Our CEO, Paul Robson, said, “In Manitoba we are fortunate to have an abundance of diverse scenery and a wealth of talent and creativity among our population. We are looking forward to showcasing the best of Manitoba as part our innovative destination centre on the hospital campus.” The interior of the new hotel is based on a nature theme, with the colours and finishes, as well as the artwork, reflecting this theme. The Manitoba-themed décor builds on Canad Inns' well-known commitment to the community. Local amateur photographers are invited to submit any photo of a well-known Winnipeg and/or Manitoba landmark. ”Travel Manitoba is pleased to partner with Canad Inns on this wonderfully creative initiative”, said Colin Ferguson, President and CEO of Travel Manitoba. “Manitoba photographers certainly have a diversity of landscapes to choose from in showcasing all this great province has to offer, including prairie grassland in the south and west, rugged Canadian Shield lakes and forests in the east and north, and arctic coastline and tundra in the extreme north... and within those, all the hidden gems that will surprise and delight visitors to the hotel." “Tourism Winnipeg is delighted to voice its support for Canad Inns’ photography contest that focuses on selecting nature-themed images for its newest destination centre,” said Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, senior vice president, Tourism Winnipeg. “Winnipeg has long been admired for its historical architecture, urban parks, and waterways. Check back soon for a list of winners! Available Prizes The winning photos will each be framed and mounted, and displayed throughout the Canad Inns Destination Centre Health Sciences Centre complex. Each artist will receive photo credit (your name will appear on the framed photo). Winning photos will also be printed in the Guest Services Directories featured in each hotel room, and may also be featured on the Canad Inns website. Winners will also be invited to the destination centre’s grand opening, and will each receive a $100 Canad Inns gift card.
