Johnny Be Goode: A Rock and Roll Reunion
March 29, 2013 - June 1, 2013
Back in high school, Johnny spent more time with his guitar then he did studying or socializing with other students. He was considered to be a "music nerd" and was teased by most of the other kids. In 1956, Johnny went on a school band trip to Ottawa, where he met another music student by the name of... Paul Anka. The two boys became friends and when Anka's career took off, he took Johnny with him!
It is now 10 years later and Johnny has been invited to his high school reunion. Most folks at home have forgotten all about Johnny, but when he brings along a few of his famous friends, this reunion becomes one of the best Rock n Roll concerts people ever heard! Friends like: Bill Halley, the Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, Ricky Nelson, Doris Day, The Righteous Brothers, Patti Page and Frankie Avalon just to name a few! Join us for Johnny B. Goode, a rock and roll good time!
Take an evening to step away from the daily stresses and be entertained by the Celebrations Cast.
Located in Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry, 1824 Pembina Highway, it's called "Interactive Dinner Theatre." Our actors and additional cast stay in character the entire time as they serve you each course throughout the evening. Add to the fun by playing along and you might even become part of the show.
From the moment you enter the theatre you're in a another world where day-to-day cares are forgotten...an old west saloon, a 1950s high school reunion, a fantasy island a futuristic starship. Wherever it is be prepared for the time of your life.
Our uniqueness carries through to the leisurely manner in which the meal service occurs. When you enter the doors, you will be presented with soup and salad followed by the first act of the production. A break follows in which your choice of four entrées is served after which the second act is presented. Finally there is another break in which your choice of two desserts are served while we celebrate with those in the audience having a birthday or anniversary. This break is followed by the third and final act of the production.
The concept originated in Winnipeg in the 80s under the name of Celebrations Dinner Theatre. The current team has operated the Winnipeg Theatre since 1993.
